ABOUT NOURISHAID
NourishAId is an AI platform that tackles food waste by connecting individuals and charities with local businesses to manage excess food stock. This project was awarded the 3rd Place Prize (Bronze Medal) at the United Nations World Innovation Hack Day 2023 (1300+ participants, 80+ countries).
Here's how it works. The food production industry throws away a considerable amount of unsold food. Charities and working class families often struggle with limited food sources and product types. This makes it difficult to prepare nutritious meals. NourishAId allows multiple local businesses to upload their inventory of excess food on a single platform.
AI constructs nutritious recipes with the available ingredients to help the charities using OpenAI’s GPT technology. The ingredients can be picked up by single individuals or delivered to the charity.
